For as long as I can
remember- I have always had a deep fascination
and love for animals as well as for drawing
and painting. During my childhood, I was
always driven to create. When other kids
would be doing kid things- invariably,
I would be off in a corner somewhere engrossed
in creating my newest little "masterpiece".

Upon reaching college-
I was encouraged to focus my love for
animals into a more practical career choice
than being a fine artist. As such, I embarked
on a pre-veterinary curriculum, earned
reasonably high grades, and worked as
a veterinary technician. After spending
many years in pursuit of becoming a Veterinarian-
it dawned on me that what I really wanted
to do with my life was draw and paint
the animals I loved. So, to the shock
of many, I returned to my art on a full
time basis. This is a decision I have
never regretted as I feel I am fulfilling
my true purpose in life!

When I create my paintings-
whether it is a custom portrait or a painting
to add to my gallery- I strive to communicate
the very essence of my subjects, not just
their physical aspect. When I see a dog,
for example- I see so much more than just
a dog. I see personality, character, life,
and love shining through his or her eyes.
It is this spark that I strive to capture
in my work. My success in being able to
truly capture each animal's spark or essence
has made me very sought after as a portrait
artist. My paintings have found their
way into collections internationally and
many prestigious galleries, such as Wild
Wings" of Minnesota, have bestowed
me the honor of exhibiting my work.
