Peggy Watkins is an emerging artist currently living
in Atlanta Georgia. Her love for the natural world and animals exhibits
itself in her artwork which is almost exclusively of wildlife, horses
and domestic animals. "I want my art to encourage respect for
all animals and their right to a natural place on this earth."
|
|
Peggy mainly works in oil but also uses colored
and graphite pencil. An avid photographer, she works almost exclusively
from her own photographs. When not working on a commissioned portrait
her favorite subject is African wildlife. She has traveled to Botswana,
Zimbabwe and most recently South Africa to obtain first hand observations
and photographs of the beautiful wildlife and land where they live.

|
Over the last few years Peggy has completed a number
of comissioned portraits of pets, horses and sporting dogs. "I
plan on continuing my portrait work and wish to increase the public's
awareness of wildlife needs by showcasing endangered species with
paintings and prints."
