About me and my artwork:
For a year, I've been painting portraits and pet sitting. I can't imagine doing anything else. Each pet I come across is unique and lovely in his or her own way. If a client is able to capture his pet's charm in a photograph, I can create a beautiful work of art from it that will put a smile on his face everytime he sees it. The portraits I paint are very lifelike, but I do more than just replicate a photograph. I can take out ugly backgrounds and crop a picture to take out unwanted parts. If a client loves his pet's eyes, I'll enhance them with a carefully chosen background color and add highlights to bring the pet's eyes to life. In a couple cases, clients were so touched by one of my portraits that they shed a tear(one of them was a man)!

Each portrait is a new creative challenge for me. I learn something new everytime and just keep progressing. I have no professional training--just high school, where I won a couple of art awards, and a little college. My portraits are very professional, however. All of my clients have been very satisfied with my work because my portraits are very lifelike.

I greatly enjoy doing lifelike portraits, but especially love making ones with a whimsical quality to them. I have a couple of those on my website which are for sale--a self portrait and a painting of my cat Bob. I plan to do more of those when I have a slow period--which I don't see happening anytime soon!
