Heather has loved art
since childhood, and recently found her
way back to doing what she really loves.
She credits her beautiful Siberian Husky
companion with inspiring her to choose
animal subjects more often than anything
else. The beauty and mysteriousness of
a wolfs face attract her; she loves
to capture the cute expression on a dogs
face, or draw the intense eyes of big
cats such as lions and tigers. With her
love of facial detail, head portraits
are a favourite, but she also enjoys portraying
wild animals in nature settings.
|
A local zoo presents opportunities
to study and choose potential subjects.
She also takes inspirational trips to the
beach, where she photographs the Blue Heron
for future works. |
Heather uses fine art pencils
to draw sharp details or blend for painterly
effects. She participated in the 2002 "From
my Perspective" juried show for colored
pencil artists and has plans for future
shows. |
One of Heather's main goals
is to have her pet portraits and wildlife
art bring joy to animal lovers for years
to come. |
