My name is Diane Heather Gordon-Erikson. I was born on February 1st 1958 in Aberdeen, Scotland. I came to the United States 17 and 1/2 years ago, with my husband, to work for the University of Southern California.

Some 5 years ago I became afflicted with a disability, not a major disability, but one that prevented me from working out of the house. At first, I went through the whole gamut of emotions; anger; fear; frustration, depression and tremendous feelings of worthlessness.
I started to read, which had always been a passion, (one of my many passions) but having worked so much I never seemed to have the time. I read self-help books, books on spiritual growth, philosophy. I started studying Kabbalah amongst various other subjects. Thankfully, soon I came to realize I had more to offer this world. I didnt need to be validated by my job and how much money I earned. The fact that I am alive is in and of itself, a reason for being.

Having a disability, no matter how slight or severe has afforded me the wonderful opportunity to get back to my first true love and passion, Photography Art.
All the photographs youll see in my studio I have taken myself, then digitally enhanced them to achieve the results I had envisioned.
They say 'art' is subjective, and it is, and I love what I do. I love the results I get, and I love that I have been given the chance to withdraw from the 'rat race' and dedicate my most valuable time on this earth and all my energies to my creativity.
Now I offer a service to people. I repair, restore and digitally enhance their old and new and worn and beat up photographs to create, what I see as beautiful works of art, and this gives me great joy.
I havent stopped reading. In fact, I have an on-line library where I sell an eclectic selection of used books and CDs. Most of the books in the self-help section I have read myself and now feel the need to share them with others.

It's true you know? Everything does happen for a reason we just may not see it at the time. But, I am certain there is a higher power, a Guardian Angel, God, call it what you will, at work in my life, and that entity continually shows me the way, and I thank him/her/it for that, each and every day.
