I see things, people, and animals around me, and they all have a story.

I try to tell that story in an interesting way, so that people who have overlooked the world around them may take notice of those things and understand them a bit more.

The stories I tell focus on a few areas of my life where I have the most experience: My heritage- Celtic and Scandinavian designs, history and symbols, Animals- every creature that crawls the earth, but mostly those in need of our help, endangered and otherwise, and People- Firefighters, Rescue workers, and people in the extreme circumstances of life.

Animals: I have studied wildlife around the world and have devoted thousands of hours to capturing their images in a variety of media including graphite, ink, watercolour, and acrylic. I believe strongly in the prevention of animal cruelty, and the preservation of nature and animals on the verge of extinction. Seeing a need to help zoological societies raise funds to help the animals in their care, I undertook a challenge to do a series of watercolours of animals in zoos from coast to coast. Sales of these watercolours were to help raise funds toward the care of these animals. I have recently undertaken the task of doing a series of 36 endangered animals from around the world in pen & ink. I have been in touch with publishers to produce a book with the images, and will donate the proceeds to help these endangered species.

Firefighters, Rescue workers, and people: My father became a firefighter when I was a child, and I have been intrigued with them ever since. Everything about firefighters fascinates me, from their gear, to the apparatus, to their courage in the face of such a deadly enemy. I try to show all aspects of the firefighter’s life, from time at the station to having their life on the line in the face of the beast, to the rescues they make and the people they rescue. I do commissions of individuals as well as departments to commemorate the lives of these heroes.

Celtic and Scandinavian styled art: I have intensely studied my background and heritage and the traditional artwork of my ancestors. I have tried to incorporate those traditional styles into modern designs that speak of both history and the present. I sometimes find ways to incorporate several stories at once, bringing animals and people into the stories told with Celtic designs. This in itself is a throwback to the ways of my ancestors. Many of the illuminated manuscripts depicted people and animals with designs.
