About Me
My love for animals started at a very young age, drawing mainly cats.
In the 1980’s I studied oil painting under Homer Spurlock, at the time of Southern California, learning in the old masters’ style. I gained popularity in our area offering pet portraits in oils. After we moved from California to Western Washington State, I taught myself how to paint in acrylics. Then in 2002 we were struck with Poodle Fever. My husband and I now have 9 fur children consisting of 5 cats, 2 poodles, and 2 outdoor mutts. Our pets mean the world to us, especially since we never had children of the two-legged variety!
Thanks to the internet, my humorous and whimsical poodle and cat prints have become popular. I am again offering custom commissioned pet portraits due to a strong demand from friends and customers, with portraits available in oils in a romantic impressionistic style, or in acrylics with a touch of humor. I also hand paint and fabricate cigar box purses with an animal theme. |
